Default 00 Z28 tire PSI help?

i have a 00 z28 with 245/50r16 tires on my car and would like to know what PSI to pump them to... i put firestone firehawk wide oval tires on it which say MAX PRESSURE 51PSI. when the door on the car tells to put it at 30 psi cold and 34psi if its hot out... so what should i use?

thanks

Max pressure on the tire is the max it can safely handle, not the car.
I always like to run with more air than what's recommended on the door jamb.
In theory, you can run with 51 lbs in the tires, but you'll have a stiffer ride and you'll take the chance of wearing the center of the tread out first. It will also make the tires feel more "greasy" on the turns. I like to usually keep around 38 in mine, just a few more than what's recommended. Never had a wear or handling problem. And, keeping more air in your tires will give you slightly better gas mileage due to them having less rolling resistance.

35 PSI all around is good for city/highway. The 51 number is the MAX not what the tires should be inflated to.

69 has the right idea. if u run the tires with to little air pressure u lose performance and handling. use 38 and see how it feels then go from there.

im with black. 35 should be good enough. when your tire gets warm it does expand, so 35 is good

thank you all... because i never was sure on what to go by.. currently i have all 4 at around 36 or 38 psi... those firestone firehawk wide ovals are actually a pretty good tire i think so far imho. i'd recommend them to anyone
