what do you think about cherry bomb brand mufflers?
what you think about cherrybomb brand mufflers ? on a scale 1-10 what would you rate it 10 being the best. I was told it was one of the best brands out there along with flowmaster is this true ?
Hmmm. you know what i'm actually kind of in the same boat as you... i have on my car(98 V6) right nowa cherry bomb glass pack 31'... and from what everyone said before i bought it, they said it would sound really loud and reallly really awful... i can't complain about it, it's not loud or awful sounding, its more of a rumble at idle and a little higher pitch wile driving, rather than a deep growl that you would get out of a flowmaster 40 or 80 series... cherry bombs are just really cheap in price thats why i bought it... $28 bucks for the muffler, and i just clamped it on with a tip because i wasn't sure about it due to all of my friends bad mouthing it... for 35 bucks after it was all said and done it was a great choice... however i am going to say 6 or 7 on the scale... only because i was broke the week i pulled my car out of storage so i got the cheaper muffler... if you have a hundred to throw at a muffler go with a flowmaster... if not go with the cherry bomb like i said... im happy with it... btw my cat is not gutted nor do i have performance headers.. thats why it's not loud really loud ... hope it helps
Cherry Bombs are a glass pack. It's going to be loud and you're going to blow out the packing within a couple of months and it's going to turn into a straight pipe. I can't attest to whether they sound good or not, but you are going to get loud if that's what you're after.
They aren't all glass packs, I think they started a new line of regular mufflers. I had a glass pack from them on my jeep, sounded awesome with the 360 v8. V6, I dunno. I wouldn't put one on my sixer.
many glasspacks will have the fiberglass wound around the outside of the internal chamber, the whole mess then inside the casing. so it should be a straight through design to begin with. they blow out the packing?
lol, yeah they do. My jeep was actually quiet for a while. Then I spent $1000 in gas and drove it from the northwest of Oregon to Reno and back. It got loud after the long uphill runs.
