Default SLP LM Torn off

Just wanted to share a recent horror story. I have an 02 Z28, which I just put a SLP lodmouth 1 on. about three days after putting the exhaust on, somehow while I was driving on the PA Turnpike in a cattle shoot construction area with no place to pull off, my clamp from the stock y pipe to the adapter for the slp broke off. Long story short I couldn't stop so I had to drag it about 1 mile. I heard the exhaust bang out about half way to stopping and left the adapter, resonator, and elbow somewhere on the highway. As you can imagine I was screaming obscenities the entire time. All I have left is the piping from right over the rear axle with some smached up tips. I just ordered the retrofit kit to replace what I lost and had to dump an extra $200 on it. I've still got the stock piping, and if I just could have found a place with a 2 3/4 - 3 1/8 adapter I could have hooked on a cherry bomb, but ended up caving and just dumping the cash onnew slp parts. It sounded great until I killed it, and it will once again when I fix it. But man the way I been driving it now with nothing hooked on after the y pipe, I'm finally getting to hear what everyone hears behind me. I'm also trying to find a decent cheap short throw for the 6-speed and figure out a low cost intake that will boost my performance, and suggestions would be nice.

Default RE: SLP LM Torn off

I've constantly had problems with the clamps from SLP on the LM system. I would recommend either getting it welded or getting some better clamps.
