Default Quietest mufflers?

Hey guys:

Have a 71 with a 327. What muffler does the best job in "muffling" sound. What are the quietest?

Thanks,
Asim

If you go with a universal turbo style muffler will be quieter than a flow master or anything like that.

I've got Hooker comps into 3 inch pipes and 2 two chamber race mufflers. Way louder that I want for crusing or coming home at 2 in the morning. I want to cancell most of the higer tones and just keep that low basey note. Don't want to loose too many ponies either.

The only problem with not wanting to loose power is...quiet means restriction of sound, sound is created by moving air, so therefore, quiet equals restriction which means that the quieter it is, the more power you tend to loose...You could always shell out the big bucks and go for the borla system, that way you can adjust your sound anywhere from stock to "pull me over" loudness!
