with no cat....

if i took the cat off my 99 v6 camaro.. which has a 40 series flowmaster on it, would it sound beefyer?.. or not much difference?... noticable???...

it would flow better without the cat and be louder, that flowmaster muffler is restricting your air flow as well, and without the cat, makes it sound too droney with flowmasters on the 3.8's, go with a straight through muffler such as magnaflow, they make those 6'ers sound pretty mean, and it actually adds performance, unlike flowmaster wich makes it sound louder, but may actually be more restrictive, because of all the chambers.

so it wouldnt sound good with the flowmaster? unless i replaced the flowmaster with a magnaflow.... isnt that expensive tho lo

i dont have a job tho, so getting a new exhaust is outa the question =/... i was hopeing takeign the cat off would make it sound beefyer, but i dont wanan mess with it if it will make it sound gay with a flowmaster

well I don't personally know what it will sound like but i do know that if you take the cat off without putting on an O2 simulater on your going to have problems with the check engine light that could cause the car to bog down and give less performance. If you put the O2 simulater on your going to notice a good performace change.

It's a device that tricks the computer into thinking the cat is there and operating successfully, so when you pull your cats the computer doesn't start throwing error codes.

okay, one last question... if i take teh cat off .. and the computer starts throwing errors... will it mess anything up? or will it just be all like " no cat ..."
