I have a friend who decided to put a 40series Flowmaster muffler on his V6 Cougar... Any ideas how its going to sound? Will it sound like crap because the muffler wasn't intended for small displacement engines? I told him he should have gone with something meant for it, but he didn't believe me.

 

I put a Flowmaster 40 on my 2.2L I4 Toyota Camry...it actually was very good sounding for a 4 banger...

I have a flowmaster 80 on my v6 maro now...it sounds great at idle, good mid-rpm, and decent at best high rpm
