well the first rearend i built had some side to side slack in the carrier. after about 3 runs the mini spool twisted sideways in the carrier and bent the pinion rod. i had to cut a hole in the housing to get the pinion back out and rescue my gears. i had an extra carrier and housing so i ground down the warped *** mini spool the best i could where the locker pieces fit back between the axle spools and built the rearend again. this ones tighter than ****s hat band. i'm convinced that slack was from the carrier being just plain wore out. as long as your carrier is in good shape and you don't mind having a locked rearend, the mini spool is the cheapest way to go. other than welding the spider gears. since yours is a street machine a locked rearend might not be the best choice. just from the few times i've drove mine you can tell it puts alot of stress on the axles when making turns. if your in the market for a good used posi-unit i know of an ebay seller that has a good rep for selling rearends. heres a link to some of his parts and his email address ... http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZdansgears ... junkmasta@aol.com ... talk at ya later. sick
