h pipe or x pipe
does anyone know which is better for low end torque the stock exhaust it has now is crap. Exhaust manifolds fed to a Y pipe 1 flowmaster muffler then split to 2 pipes just looking for tech help if anyone has expeirimented with the exhaust before i purchase the parts
I really have no idea which one is better for low end torque but either one will be better than stock based on what you stated. I have an H-pipe on my car and it is awesome works well and sounds mean. So I really guess it is up your preference as to what you choose. As far as I have seen there is no numbers to say which is better at low end torque. If there is someone please post it up and prove me wrong. Hope this helps
thanks I've also owned a 89 mustang gt it came factory equiped with a H-pipe but that engine was only a 302 and had cats now with a 350 and no cats I'm inclined to try X-pipe. like you said anything is better than the set up im running now
There can't be too much difference in power, the cross over in the pipe is only there so you can equalize the pressure. Theoretically the X pipe is going to get you better numbers because it has a smoother transition, I've never seen any evidence either way on a dyno.
