Hey everyone: Do I need a chip moedification if I put a magnaflow deaul cat back exhaut on my 99 camaro V6? Thanks

If by change the chip you mean get your PCM reprogammed, then no, you can get more hp out of the car if you do, but just changing the cat back won't require a tune, it's not a big enough mod.

Actually I'm not really sure. Someone told me if I put a dual cat back system in I need to change or program the chip. Have no idea what they mane and they didn;t even know what they meant. Just want to be sure I don;t have a check engine light coming on all the time.

Nick is saying "what chip" because 4th gens that are 94+ don't have a removable chip, the computer is reprogramable so purchasing a "chip" is completely useless to you.

Thanks guys. I didn't think anything from the cat back would make enough of a differnece to require any computer changes.. I didn;t know that the computer was reprogrammable though. Thought they still had a replaceable chip. Appreciate the help.

yup, i hate when people tell me "man you should get a chip, they give you like 50 horsepower!!!!"
