Default 1970 SB 307

What kind of intakes, headers, and exhausts are available for a SB 307? I don't have a clue where to buy parts for this car either, so suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

I posted in the 2nd gen section. I have the same motor, it is junk, a torque stroke without the cubic inches to build power. unless you want headache and anger, toss it, buy a 350 or a 383 stroker crate motor for like 7-8 grand, put a built transmission behind it, and put 3.73 gears in the rear along with a posi unit

ok,I see you are definitely green with this stuff so I'll try to be gentle.

a 307 is justa smallblock chevyengine. the same intake will fit as it would from a 350 (chevy's most popular engine). your engine is really not a perfomance based engine at all. the good thing though is, that if funds are tight, you can bolt on parts as you get the money because they do fit all smallblocks. you won't really get the most benefit out of them with your current mill but after you get all your bolt-ons, you can save up and buy a nice perfomance 350 short block and just switch all your parts over to it and doing it that way, you won't really have a big expense at any one time

and to answer your question a Posi unit is the rearend in your car. it spins both tires in limited traction situations instead of just one, as it would in an open carrier, which I am going to assume you have in your car. I am also going to assume you have somewhere between a 1974 and a 1977 Camaro?

the 3:73 gears are the gears in the rearend. I'm going to venture a guess that you probaly have somewhere between a 2:42 to a 2:73 gear now, in that car, and a 3:73 gear is going to make the car a LOT quicker but you would sacrifice major top-end speed with them

307 only came in 69-72 cars, and it came with an open 3.08 rear, so he has a low compression, econo-motor. they can be made fast, but it is a hard task. and with the small cubic inch number, bolting on hogh output parts just leads to a bogged down motor, too much gas, not enought volume to move it kind of thing. like I said, ditch that motor, at least geta decent rebuilt 350 for like 3 grand and UPGRADE THE REAR, nothing worse than having power and not being able to use it
