68 RS 327 Header issues
Hello - Finally bought my dream car a month ago! - 1968 RS Convertible. New the owners group. My mechanic and I are having trouble finding the correct Headers. We just received our 2nd set of Doug's headers from Summit and they also are hitting the floor/firewall. Any suggestions would be welcome.
Cheers,
Craig

Are you trying to put a dual exhaust set with the stock cross brace?
Is it a big block? You can put a duals on a car with a stock cross brace but it take custom exhaust work.

I can not say I have ever had an issue with fitment of headers on a any Small block 1st gen camaro. I think the first set I installed would have been around 1983. I probably done 100 between 1st and 2nd gen. Everything from the cheapest no name brand to some of the best stainless steel ones. These are probably the most produced header ever made. I am guessing there is something up with your car. Something is not to factory specs. , Frame not mounted right, Car twisted, wrong motor mounts or something else. One set of bad header would not be a major surprise, Mis-packaged or Mis-manufactured. My 67 has old school Black jacks with the Aluminum coating.
Now for the rest of the exhaust the rag top is a bit of a pain. If the car is stock riding height its tuff to get 2 the pipes to the back.
