turbo 350 question

Default turbo 350 question

I have a 1978 camaro with the 250 straight 6 and a 1 brrl carb, my transmission went out, I am pretty sure its a turbo 350, I am about to buy one on craigslist but I am seeing short and long shaft trannys, I am not sure which one I need? I appreaite any help, Thanks, -Nick.

The tail shaft housings (with longer shafts to correspond) came in three lengths; 6", 9", and 12". The 12" is less common, it was used in some station wagons, etc.
You would likely be looking at either a 6" or 9" on yours. Measure your housing, then compare to the one you're looking at.

yeah or you could find the Identification plate on the tranny and read it off and possibly google or look it up in some books
