How much does a standard tune up cost for a 2000 camaro v6?

Depends on labor rates and parts cost in your area. Around here you see $29.95, 39.95 most vehicles.

It's only $40 bucks if they need to replace the pcv valve, spark plugs, clean fuel injection, and other major things?

First of all, with a Haynes manual you can do about everything needed yourself, and a huge saving. Even doing it yourself the parts you need could easily be over $40, but at most shops you would be very lucky to get out for a century note.

Its that sign that says $39.95 that gets you in the door. You can't ask this question in a forum. You have to check your local shops.

Both above post are correct. For the 30 - 40 buck range you might get just an oil and lube job. Also you need to know what exactly is a tune up, these days some would consider just changing the oil and filter to be good enough. plugs, timing (yeah I know newer cars dont need timing adjusted) filters, wires, etc...
