Default thermostat

hey all. is there such thing as a "coolent temp senser?" cause my 98 3.8 is running at like 215 all the time no matter what temp thermo i put in.i even put a 160 in but with no luck

yeah my car temp. fluctuates from 160-215. then it stay at 215 degrees. I dont no if thats normal though

Some cars do have coolant temp sensor thingys

If you put in too cold a T stat it wont ever close giving the coolant any time to stay in the radiator and drop in temp. 215 is not overheating
