Default Starting and over heating problem..please help

My girlfriend just bought a 1995 plain jane v6 automatic camaro and there are two problems with it...

1. When you try and start it once it wont start but when try one more time and it starts just fine... have no idea

2. It will over heat during the winter or when the ac is not on?
Has anyone had any similar problems with this?

1) Fuel pressure regulator or check valve on fuel pump may be bad.
2) Engine coolant temp sensor probably bad.

also check the fuel pump relay. After extended cranking the engine will build up oil pressure and bypass the relay. And change the fuel filter for her. Seen so many people neglect that.
