i have a 96 3800 v6 5speed, when i start it in the mornings when its cold (minnesota winter) the car starts, idles up and then the idle just drops and it stalls out.. it seems it only does it in the morning after sitting all night and getting so cold, but it starts right back up, sometimes it doesnt do it, sometimes it does it once, today it did it three times before it stayed running, what could be causing this? is the gas freezing up? ive never had that happen to any other car.. or is it a sensor? please help

 

how old are the spark plugs? may want to try cleaning your idle air control valve/motor. could be sticking.

 

spark plugs and everything are new, i bought new plugs, wires, coil packs, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter and some other things when i first bought it a few months back, turned out all it needed was plugs, but the new wires i bought turned out to be bad, so then i replaced everything else before figuring out it was faulty plug wires i bought, but i'll try cleaning that, where exactly is it located? on the trottle body?

 

ya know i dont think you have one. i been looking and i keep seeing that you dont. check your fuel pressure at first startup.

 

A week battery can cause that too.
