Okay, so when I stop at a stoplight, my1994Camaroseems to rattle so bad that the heat shield can be heard from the driver's seat. Also, when I hit fifth gear, the engine seems to lag to the point where it can barely go over 2500 rpms. If I accelerate in fifth gear, it will straddle 2500 rpms and eventually kick into overdrive. After talking to a friend of mine he said that it might be carbon buildup in the intake manifold. Beats me. What do you think it is?

 

I think you need to start with a tune up. Plugs, wires, air filter, & fuel filter. Also check fuel pressure and pressure regulator. After that if it still runs bad you will be able to take a better look. Is the check engine lite coming on?
