Default Rear End

I have a 69 Camaro with a 454 and would like to change the rear end to a Posi. Currently I'm running 373 gears and it works out faily well. I have a friend who has a Ford 9" with 3.25 gears and would be willing to cut me a deal. What should I look to pay for a complete axle assembly with brakes ready to bolt in (brand new)?

for later camaros a complete boltin 9" cant really be had for less than 2.5K, the ones u usually find online dont have brake assemblies and are like 2.1k. the vast majority of that cost is the fabrication to make it work with a chevy, so i would imagine it would be about the same for you.

If you have a 12 bolt in it now stay with that. The 9' will take a little more power to turn than a 12 bolt

Thanks for the reply.
The problem is I have400 HP and a 10" 373 rear end that is not Posi. The ford 9" was made for a 69 firebird with a 500hp motor. The ford rear end has 3.25 gears. I may be able to get it for 2K with brakes!?

That is about the right price. If you have a 10 boltnow then yes go with the 9". The only thing to find out is if it is set up for mono or multi leaf springs. The drive shaft might have to be shortened or lengthened and a different U-Joint.
