rag top rear window is barely hanging on
the rear window is coming off the rag top .the previuse owner used duct tape to keep it in place. the duct tape makes it look bad so i took it off .the window is still partially on but just barely .i can open and close the top with no problems but it just looks ghetto!!! well my question is what type of tape or glue should i buy to place the window back on properly??? If i can't put the window back on myself how much will it cost me to have the window remounted???

RE: rag top rear window is barely hanging on
I think you will find most pros will tell you there is no correct “fix” for that condition. The way the tops are made there is no way to reproduce the process of sealing the window without getting into more cost then replacing the top. I am told the age of window and the surrounding material plays a big part is the loss of the adhesion. As the window ages it can not bend as well as it used to and the fibers in the surrounding material gets weaker, also many time when this happens it is due to material shrinking. Having said that RTV and “clear duck tap are about the best temp repair I have found. A new top can be had for under $300 for most models. Some models the rear window section is a separate the main sail section of the top and cost around $150.
