When my serpentine belt ripped...it also ripped up the uhh...clothy fury stuff under the hood, dunno what to call it or what it's called, was torn up by the belt. What looks like a bunch of fur got all over the engine and some of it hangs down, I am wondering if it is ok to drive the car the way it is? Here's a picture:

 

Its insulation to keep the heat from the engine from ruining your hood paint.

As long as you clean up anything major still hanging down from it, you'll be fine.
