2011 RS 2LT, noticed last week then when I hit the gas the oil pressure goes up to 70 then back to a norm of about 30 to 34. When first start up in the morning the pressure goes up to about 70 then after 30 plus seconds comes back to about 30 -34. Never noticed this before, am told this is normal. Anyone else see the same thing or know it is normal or not. No other indicators show. Car runs fine.

 

Not speaking from a specific car standpoint, just in general:

Your oil pressure should increase with RPMs which is normal. If you see it drop rapidly while driving or while your rpms go up, then you've got something to worry about. Keep in mind oil pressure should always stay pretty norm upon idle.

Cold starts oil pressure is always greater due to the viscosity of your oil and circulation (it is a cold start afterall), after the engine warms up a bit and oil circulates your oil pressure will return to a normal reading.
