Based on all the info given, if it's still cranking, then I'd have to say it's either a no-spark or a fuel delivery problem. A better description of what it's doing might help to givea better answer.

I cant post more than a line or two at a time for some reason so here it goes again.

Bought a 78 Camaro, supposedly with a 69 corvette 350. Did an oil change right away and found out that the dipstick tube was broken. No problem, ordered a replacement, wrong part came, returned it, wrong part again and again. So I fixed my old tube and reinstalled it. Now the first thing is, as far as I know GM didnt make a passenger side dipstick until 81, if this is true it cant be a 69 corvette motor.

Tried many different configurations, replaced the wires, plugs cap rotor and coil. Still no start. Could there be a different firing order for a later moded small block 350?

1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, that's it. So it ran before you messed with the plug wires? Any chance you may have crossed anyof the wires? Did you remove all the wires and start over, or do one at a time? Make sure #1 cylinder wire is on the #1 terminal of the dist. cap (with #1 cyl at TDC compression stroke). Then follow the firing order in a clockwise rotation on the dist. cap.

Have you checked with a meter to see that you still have power going to the ignition coil with the key on? And no, your engine with a pass. side dipstick isn't from a 69 Vette. To see what you have, check the casting # on the block near the drivers side bellhousing, the date casting on the pass. side, and the engine code in front of the pass. side head.
