Default New Question... Bout my hood!!

Ok, I have a fairly heavy hood on my car with a corny looking useless scoop, the hydrolic pumps that are supposed to hold it up are lacking, to the point where I'm only working under the hood with one hand and holding the hood up with the other. Any recomendations? I know that the pumps may need to be bigger butI want to make sure that there will be enough space and the dimentions would be right. very frustraing stuff. Comments would be appreciated. [sm=feedback.gif][sm=smiley10.gif][sm=massbounce.gif][sm=lildevil.gif][sm=lildevil.gif][sm=lildevil.gif][sm=lildevil.gif]<----- Fun with smilies.

U could just replace the stocks that hold the hood up or u could go buy a fiberglass hood, but then u have the issue of the cost and getting it painted and then dealing with rocks hitting it, and then stress cracks. So in all go get the stocks from ur local parts supplier.

I was thinking about hitting the junk yard down the road from me, carbon fiber has never really been attractive to me, and i think that this hood has lived a good life and now its time to put it away, and every time i got to a junk yard I have luck in finding what I need. When the guy hit my quater panel, it dented in the corner of the hood so, not only is it a pain to hold up while working, its a pain to get open it in the first place, and I've decided to take my baby through a personal inspection station, that way... um... it would be nearly IMPOSSIBLE for me to fail. Besides I have to get it done soon, cuz I dont know if you know about Jersey cops, but if they see a 20 yr old gurl driving a camaro, theyll find any reason in the world to pull you over, especially if you've got the pretty red rejection sticker on the window.

Well here is what I see is the problem with going to a junk yard. Say u buy two stocks for 20.00 and install them and they work for a month or so and then u run into the same problem. Then u get mad and decide to go buy a pair of news ones. So then charge 50.00 and install and they work. So now u spent 70.00 bucks and wasted time and energy. Best laid out plan would be go buy new ones from ur local parts store.
