are you auto or manual ?

if you want to do gears, id go with 3.73s, you can do 4.10s but you would be burning gas like a mother, if you like 8 mpg get 4.10s, otherwise 3.73s would be your best bet

there is about a 300rpm difference at highway speeds between 4.10s and 3.73s. only reason not to do 4.10s is if u are making enough power to run out of gear at the track.

yes. people freak because TECHNICALLY the rpm raise with steeper gears. this should not affect city driving unless ur foot becomes heavier because you can always choose where you shift. the highway rpm WILL be higher, but like i said its really not that much. the MAJOR contributor to gear selection is not RPM but MPH. what speed do you need to shift from 3-4 and from 4-5? if you are going to the track you do not want to be shifting right before the traps, so what you want is the steepest gear possible that will let you be NEAR redline but not AT redline AT the traps on a perfect run.

if you are going to be a street only car i would just say F it and go 4.10s (actually, "would" isnt right, since thats exactly what im doing on my cam/nitrous car). hell, you could even go 4.30s. I know several mustang guys that went 4.30 and love every minute of it.I personally wouldnt do it, mostly because that is a little steep for the fbody tranny ratios, but you definitly could. I have heard so many people go with 3.73's because they were afraid of the mpg and regret it forever. i was one of them. 3.73s on my mustang..... suck
