Need help understanding TSBs, and major trans. problem
Hi. this is my first post. I found the forum while lookig for any info on 2002 Z-28 transmission problems.
I'm not a tech - just a long time owner of Camaros. Last Friday, driving along at 40mph, the transmission had a major failure. even though I was only 1 mile from the dealership, I elected to not try to drive that far. 29,000 miles and no previous symptoms of auto. transmission problems. Dealership will probably contact me today but so far no diagnosis.
I have started searching through the tech service bulletins but don't really know what I'm looking for and I'm not familiar with their significance. Also, not familiar, other than casual mention, of the warranty coverage for transmission for original owners of 2002 and other years. I have the sense that I'll need any and all info I can get since sometimes dealers aren't forthcoming.
Any and all comments, related to what I should be aware of, would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Need help understanding TSBs, and major trans. problem
As I was rolling along, I got a jolt and significant metal grinding. My instant reaction was that I hit something or a vehicle hit me - neither occurred. Most of the power (75%) was gone and I pulled into a lot. No sign of leaks or anything hanging underneath but also no reverse. When it was hauled away, putting it in neutral, engine off, and rolling it backward 30 feet, I could hear some grinding.
I know this isn't a good technical description. Chevrolet just called and says there are metal filings in the pan and there is no reverse. They need to disassemble in order to diagnose.
