I BOUGHT THE CAR IN DECEMBER OFF OF THIS GUY I MET ON CRAIGSLIST, WENT TO HIS HOUSE, TEST DROVE, TALKED CASH, N THEN CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY TO DRIVE HER HOME..BUT, MY CONCERN IS THAT, IVE ONLY SEEN THE GAS LIGHT ON ONE TIME, N IT WAS THE DAY AFTER I DROVE IT HOME, I FILLED HER UP, FULL TANK, AND I HAVENT SEEN THE LIGHT SINCE, IS THIS NORMAL, DID SOMETHING HAPPEN TO THE LITTLE BULB IN THERE, OR IS MY GAS TANK THAT BIG, I MEAN I DROP LIKE 20MILES, ON THE RED LINE, LEMME KNOW PEEPS, THANKS

 

um maybe it didnt come on cause you have enough gas in the tank ?

but i wouldnt wait to fill it up until the light comes on

its better to have at least 1/4 tank, otherwise you could burn out the gas pump

Also I do not know if that light should do it but does it come on whith the bulb test as you first turn the key on

 

NEVER let a fourth gen or any camaro/firebird run out of gas or get low, its much easier to just fill it up regularly than drop the axle to replace the pump, or pay a shop upwards of 1k to replace it[&:]....

 

you dont need to drop the axle, you can either drop the gas tank or cut a hole in the trunk/cargo area

 

The haynes manual says to practically remove the rear of the car, at least i think so, i lost mine kuz i threw it at something a while back.....the trap door is a good idea though, gonna hit that up once this "global warming" hits the midwest haha

 

Alih hit the nail on the head. I changed the fuel pump in mine three weeks ago and I just cut a whole in the trunk and covered it back up when I was done, nobody will ever know.
