there out there for that price range, just gonna have to look a lot. Just sold a 81 last week, good , dependable mechanically sound with lots of suspension done as well, just needed comeplete interior re-done and some very minor body work for $3000. Just depends on HOW MUCH you want to tackle.

I'm in San Antonio, so Houston isn't too far of a drive. 5k isn't too bad either, if it's in GOOD shape.

I'm getting tired of test driving projects man, they make my old toyota seem like a f'ing Lexus.

Good idea, I'll do that.

You serious?

Man I drove a 86 Camaro this morning that was the best test drive I've had so far...engine actually didn't stall...body in good shape...few interior issues...and even that was 3k.

I would kill for a car like that right now.

Mechanically sound, the interior could be torn to ****s I don't care. I have no problem fixing the aesthetic stuff. I'm just not a big engine guy.

I was looking at 3rd gen cars but bought my '93 Z28 and drove it home for $2000.
It needed some TLC like a trans seal and radiator, tires etc. but after a total of a smidge over $4K everything works and she drives great, she's loaded with AC,cruise,TW,PW,the works.

Personally I like the older ones maybe because I feel the value will hold pretty good. Here's a camaro I found here on CL. Seems pretty nice but you know how it is, they always look good in pics. Check it out.
