Would a Vacuum line to the Heater/Airconditioning ie (Climate Control Panel) be causing my 90 Camaro RS to backfire??? just curious. I've replaced the majority of vacuum lines. Here's a pic of it...After about a few minutes the car starts running like crap. and going up the hills is a pain in the ***. When I go down the hills no problems with acceleration, but the car wants to backfire. I was just wondering if this little vacuum line is sending bad signals to my map sensor...thus giving me codes. Thanks!

I've got an RS 3.1 engine. 6 cyl. The thing I am holding is the vacuum line to the temperature control panel though. I was wondering if it had anything to do with the backfiring. Seems as though my car is running a bit on the gasoline rich side. Now the exhaust is an Autozone aftermarket. I had it put on not to long ago. It's fine...just the backfiring. agggghh! If there was some way to post a video of it running on here.....

1. i would not call that a vaccuum line at all.
2.It shouldn't have anything to do with the MAP.
I would do a full tune up on it:
Air Filter
PCV valve
Fuel Filter
Plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor
Blah blah blah
If you are getting a code for the MAP, the sensor might be broken or dirty or something, i dont know where its located on you car but on mine its just right there on the pass. side of the upper plenum. 3 prong wire coming out of it and a "vaccuum line" going into the intake.
the end

[&:] a vacuum leak anywhere can have an effect both short term and long term with the compters ability to adapt so fix all leaks and see where were at. my guess is that that is not your only problem weather that was the cause or not.
sounds like you have an overly rich condition and codes should be checked and repaired before you do any damage kurt
