mopar codes
Im asking this for a co-worker. codes p0730 - incorrect gear ratio - TCM has detected the tranny is trying to mechanically shift into a lower gear than intended
p0700 - transaxle control system fault - recieved a signal that the transaxle control module has a fault
its on a newer C300. i told him it sounds like the electronics got pissy, but the SEL is now off and its no longer acting funny.
get it looked at?

It could be an electrical connection, an electronic component, or a mechanical issue with the trans. One of the possibilities that was given was oil leaking on a connector, and that happened to be the cause of this persons problem.
Since your co-worker's trans acted up and now it went away, it's quite possible it could be a bad connection somewhere causing an intermittent problem (the most fun ones to try and find).
I would clean and check everything over, unplug and replug electrical connectors to the trans, and check for corrosion or goop on the prongs, then not worry about it as long as the error doesn't return.
Is he the slightest bit mechanically inclined to do that?
