Default LS1 or no? Can anyone help :(

I just obtained this 1990 RS Camaro. Here is what the gentleman had sent me

"WANT TO TRADE FOR A 1990 RS CAMERO, 240k on body but;THE ENGINE IS A BOZARTH CRATE ENGINE LS1 BLOCK,& CAM,THE HEADS HAVE BEEN REDONE TO MATCH(BUT ARE NOT ACTUAL LS1 HEADS) THE TRANS HAS SHIFT KIT;CORVETTE SERVOS,(700R4 TRANS)"

It is a tremendous amount of fun to drive and it sounds unreal but I would like to confirm if it is an LS1. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Shawn

From the pictures it looks like the seller sold you a lot of BS...But it dose have Headers & aluminum intake. If anything is correct it might be a 350, most LS1 were Aluminum blocks but crate engine be cast iron. So, you could have a LSI block but to call it a LSI motor would be a reach.

Looks like an Gen I sbc to me with vortec style heads which I'm about 99.99% sure don't fit up with an LS engine.

i can tell you right now, and im 15 and seen alot of engines, that sure as hell is no LS1 motor. 350 with what looks like a high rise intake. prob the stock motor or one he threw in. like he said ^^, vortec heads on an LS1, doesnt happen. those are stock heads. prb just like the entire motor is. thats no LS1. oh, and any one who buys an LS1 crate motor, would have oversparay over everything and wouldnt let it go to dog **** haha

only way to know for sure what it is, is to check the numbers on the block.

I do know of some LS1 carb'd applications and they are baaaaaad ****'s for sure. I truly doubt this is an LS1. It maybe a carb'd LT1 but I'm fairly certain it's not an LS1.

its not an lt1 either unless they changed the optispark out for a regular distributor somehow, i think i read somewhere that it is possible but im not sure. also i dont think its an ls1 or lt1 because of the waterpump style. looks like a regular gen 1 350

True, didn't even think about the optispark. I'm looking at the front of the block where the manifold meets the block and that looks like a standard sbc. LS1's are straight across.

LT1's have the curve like the old SBC's though:
