LS1 Automatic Tanny
i know a good bit about cars but when it comes to automatic transmissions i guess u could say i slept through that part of auto school LOL. but what i'm wating to know what is a stall convertor. i know in a manual tranny just buy a better clutch set-up but is it basicly the same principle? i just bought an 2000 Z-28 w/ LS1 but automatic i'm saving to buy a trickflow top end combo witch shuold bring me up to bout 550 hp then add on bbk intake and bigger throttle body well looking at close to 600+ after i'm all done but idk what size of a stall convertor to get. any help would be GREAT.

When you get your custom built tranny the guys will ask you what you plan on doing with they car. They would like to see your estimate torque curve and the weight of the car and yournew rear ratioand from that they will recommend a stall speed. It really depends on what you want from the car. Higher stall speed mean faster 1/4 but less streetablity.
