Hlp me out
As I said b4 im trying to decide on a camaro and 1 guy is selling a fairly modded 1 and I've been told it only needs a new cat converter to pass smog. Should I wait till the guy does it or is there some kinda street lgl O2 sensor simulator I could get n b cheaper or sumthn?
If they use a "sniffer" on your exhaust, an O2 simulator will not help anything. Usually referred to as MIL eliminators (Malfunction Indicator Lamp), the O2 simulators use resistors to fool the computer into thinking everything is alright. Thus, the check engine light won't come on.
It all depends on how the emisions are tested in your state. Here in IL. if the car OBDII they just plug in a scanner to the OBDII port, and as long as there are no codes present the car will pass, if it has a code then it goes onto the rollers for the full sniffer test.
