Hlp me out

Default Hlp me out

As I said b4 im trying to decide on a camaro and 1 guy is selling a fairly modded 1 and I've been told it only needs a new cat converter to pass smog. Should I wait till the guy does it or is there some kinda street lgl O2 sensor simulator I could get n b cheaper or sumthn?

not too sure on that one, but me personally would just fix the problem before it causes more headaches later....

If they use a "sniffer" on your exhaust, an O2 simulator will not help anything. Usually referred to as MIL eliminators (Malfunction Indicator Lamp), the O2 simulators use resistors to fool the computer into thinking everything is alright. Thus, the check engine light won't come on.

It all depends on how the emisions are tested in your state. Here in IL. if the car OBDII they just plug in a scanner to the OBDII port, and as long as there are no codes present the car will pass, if it has a code then it goes onto the rollers for the full sniffer test.

really dependson the state, here in NJ they do the OBD testing on 96 and up, but some states could be stricter, like Cali
