Help plz

everytime i'm at a stop light, my rpm's keep going up and down back and forth, what might be the problem??? plz help i need to fix it quick cuz its getting annoying.

My 91 used to have an erratic idle like that until I gave it a tune-up: plugs, wires, cap & rotor. Has your engine ever been treated to any new ignition parts?

^x2. besides it being an 89 iroc, what else can you tell us about the car. I am thinking that once you give it a nice tune up you will hav a better idea of whats wrong.
