Default Headlight Sensor (Photocell) location

Hi there!

Anybody can tell me where the automatic headlight sensor on 2001 Camaro SS is located? Anyone has a circuit diagram? Lately my headlights stay on all the time - I would assume the photocell is shot or dirty? or a "blocking diode" is fried somewhere in the circuit..Any suggestions?

Thanks

Isn't there a little bump on top the dash? Are yopu sure its not the DRL? Does your light switch have an off position taht you can switch from auto?

No, there is no little bump on the dash. And the headlight switch only overrrides the system when headlights are off (I.e. turns them on) but does not switch ligths off once they come on.

Any other suggestions, anyone?

The sensor is in the dash. If you look in the vent on the top of the dash well enough you should be able to see it. I guess an easy test would be to make sure its clean and shine a bright flashlight on it and see if your lights go off.

yeah, i know.. just saying if its covered in a LOT of dust or something and that was keeping light from getting to the sensor, making sure its clean and making sure its getting light should turn the lights off if the sensor is good.. but yeah, i think its game over for the sensor..
