Ok, for the past few weeks , I noticed my car lacking power at times when accellerating,the idling was fine for a while, its now progressively getting worse! and idleing is rough and theres almost absolutly no power, I struggle to get up to 50 mph sometimes. check engine light is on and when i floor the gas pedal and struggle up to speed my check engine light blinks 5 times. i have no reader also.I replaced the plugs (premium platinum plugs) wires, fuel filter, serpentine belt.... i'm thinking fuel pump? maybe, but this problem is getting worse any advice? thanks guys! =/

 

the check engine light means go get it coded so that you can see what is really wrong

 

I'm putting it in the shop tomorrow, just wanted some of you guys insight on this.

 

a lot of the times, it could be the throttle body being all clogged up

 

im not trying to be a jerk or nothing bro but its just the smartest thing to just go take it to have the codes pulled if you just keep driving hoping it will reveal it self .....it will when i blows up

 

[&:] wtf throttle body clogged up?? wow where'd ya get that?? while pulling codes, especially when the light comes on, is certainly a minimum of what should be done it will normally only send one in a direction, its not a end all fix all for these computer controlled cars. your symptoms are quite typical of plugged catalytic converters however similar symptoms can come from a myriad of other causes as well and unless you know how to check for this the local shop is your best bet

 

Cat converter plugged? is it a sensor? or literally PLUGGED like something is obstruct outbound flow of exhaust?

 

Somebody should read the owners manual. LOL
