if its the wrong place to be asking im sorry. i was wondering why my camaro z28 has 2 drive and over drive instead of 1 2 and so on. could some one explain it to me.

Its just the way its labled. Its a 4 speed automatic. 1,2,D (3rd)and O.D. (4th)

[X(] as previously stated its a four speed auto who predacessor was gm's 700r4 trans. the unique thing about both transmissions is an ultra low first gear. the brains at gm decided it wasnt a good idea to allow the driver to manually select this ultra low first gear to avoid grenading things while said driver is engine braking with the trans or trying to impress his buddies with a manual first gear burn out kurt

lol. thanks. i figured it would be cuz of low gear. lol that was funny though. i think im going to add that as my signature. but still does a good burnout in first then second lol.
