If the car is strictly for drag racing 4.11 to 4.56 and slickswill work well. If the car is for street use stay with 3.73. That is, unless you enjoy a lot of engine noise and burning a lot of gas.

[&:] ditto what the illustrious z28 pete said. 3.73 gears are great all around ratio. 4.11 or 4.56 will suuuuck for anything but racing. as for a locker well its a preference thing but id suggest either a posi or locker of some sort if you have an open diff now to try and get the blown HP to the ground kurt

4.10s are gonna suck gas, but are streetable, 4.56 is strictly a racing gear, as well as any gears numerically higher than the. I personally if you race it would go 4.56 locker, on street, I would go 4.10 with an auburn posi. also, if it still has a ten bolt in it, get rid of that thing with the power you are pushing and look 12 bolt or ford 9 inch

What kind of power are we talking about? If you want streetable, I suggest 3.55 or 3.73. It really depends on the engines needs. As for lockers Detroit's no spin is unstopable and is available in 31 spline, upgrade your 10 bolt axles and have an equal or slightly stronger rear end than the overrated 12 bolt. Or you could just go with a Currie 9 inch and never look back.
