it wiggles and it really bugs me. any easy way to tighten it?

 

both my cars do it too........... i dunno

 

My gas pedal stuck like hell for months. I finally took the intake duct off the throttle body and brushed around the butterfly valves with some carb cleaner. Definitely helped, but I didn't scrub it as good as I wanted to. I should take the whole tb off sometime, but I haven't felt like it.

if you are talking about the pedal wiggles, and the metal rod that runs threw your firewall doesnt. Its just a screw or something you can tightn up behind the pedal, or maybe put a washer in it or something? get a flash light and lay on your back on the floor board if you can fit, or maybe a mirror or something and check it out. Im sure you can figure a way to shim it.

 

i have the same prob in my 92 rs. the metal rod the pedal is connected to dosent stick out as far as it should and has alot of slack. I can push the pedal down and it does very little till u get it halfway down.

Take a look at this 2001 Camaro Accelerator control diagram. This diagram illustrates all of the components in the gas pedal assembly on your 2001 Camaro. I don't remember which bolt you have to tighten down in order to solve the loose pedal issue but it's one of the bolts/screws displayed
