Does Anybody Know Of A Reasonable Z28 Mechanic In So Cal Redondo Beach Area?
I have some issues that I cannot fix on my own and am in need of a reasonable mechanic. I have a high idle and some leaks that need fixing. Any info would be helpful. Thanks. I also placed a similar thread in the regional section but it did not look like it gets to much action.
Edelbrock's website has some great 5 minute videos all about carburator tuning, and turning down your idle, in most cases is just a matter of loosening and tightning one bolt, you could save yourself some $$$ if you watch those clips. As for the leaks, you dident give any info on where abouts they are but if your any bit of a handy-man i might be able to exsplain to you the procedure of fixing a leak. (depending on leak of course)
Dont always go for a mechanic if you could do it yourself and learn something on the way
And no, i dont know of any mechanic in thay area. And i would be suprized if someone on here did.

My car is fuel injected. It is a 95 Z28. As far as the idling problem, I get a steady idle at about 1800 RPM. I replaced the TPC and the IAC as well as purchased a 58MM BBK throttle body. What other vacuum hose would it be? The car has no AC and no heater. I only have one hose from the left valve cover hooked up to the throttle body. Are there any other hoses that I am missing? Any info would be helpful. Thanks
What leaks do you have that need fixing? When was the last tune up? Once you get it up to snuff the car might run nice, new oil, fluids, plugs, wires filters etc... can make a world of difference.
Look for vacuum leaks. Did this happen after the TB install? Spray some carb clean in areas and listen for the idle to change. That will be your leak
