My son has an 83 and the later model works but there was a gap in the middle vents, between the pad and the top of the vent. Not much. Less than half an inch. Everything else was the same. Maybe we did something wrong on the vents.

 

The 90-92 pads were a little different. The center vents are angled on the sides so that cut out is different. Also the edges are rounded
