I personally like to get a container where the whole air filter can be submerged. Mix in some dawn dish soap with water and then let it soak and agitate the solution through the filter. Reverse flush it with warm water to get rid of the rest of the dirt.

Buy a cleaning kit and follow the instructions enclosed. They cost about $10, and can be purcheased at any store that sells K&N products.

When you do that, what do you use to re-oil the filter? I've never seen the filter oil sold in a store seperately around here, but it could just be greedy bastards wanting more money...

Use the K&N oil! That's the whole reason why it works. It's like taking your dry car a dry dirt road, you'll come off it with little dust on your car. Say you have a wet car and go down that same road, you'll have dirt sticking to your car like a magnet. Oil attracts and holds really small particles of dust and dirt.

I knew to use the K&N oil, but like I said, nobody around here sells it individualy, I have to buy the cleaning kits. And I haven't got a credit card, so ordering from summit is a bit of a hassle for something so small.

Perhaps I'll just buy a 55 gallon drum. I'll probably use most of it eventually, when I open the speed shop.

That's what I was talking about. Anyone who has K&N filters ought to sell them, and they are ussualy right next to the air filters.
