Charging system issues: Car keeps dieing
#12
well im running out of ideas. need to do a power draw test and see if u got something sucking up amps. partially shorted wire or stuck/bad solonoid. do u have a underdrive setup on the car? what amp alternator did u get? have u tried scanning for trouble codes?

im still thinking bad connection somewhere. did u clean and inspect the negative cable. try a continuity test from the neg battery terminal and the alternator housing to see how grounded the alternator is. maybe run a jumper cable (carefully) from the neg battery terminal to the alt housing and see if it charges more. im trying to watch a movie read a book and type on the computer. so im kinda slow tonight. u should get one of these books its a dealer service/shop manual, its spacific to my yr and model and is about 4 in. thick. lots of info. anyways this is what i found on the current draw so far im still reading and looking in the book. did a quick google and found this. where u at, must be getting late.

That's at idle? 13.05ish is a little low, especially after you turn on the headlights, heater/AC fan, etc. And since you were seeing a drop at the gauge with higher rpm's, did you test it that same way at the alternator to see if voltage drops as the rpm's go up? Your alternator might be taking a dump.
