Default brake pads

I stopped by the dealer today and asked about brake pads. He told me the 2000 Z28 does not come with ceramic pads. However, when I shop online for pads, every site I checked said the car is suppose to use ceramic pads. Does anyone know if it really matters if I use or do not use ceramic pads?

You are talking dealer OEM vs Aftermarket brake pads and you can use whatever you want.

The dealer is only going to tell you what the OEM part was. You can get any type of pad you want depending on the money you are willing to spend.

Also, you will spend much more at a dealer than at a parts store.
