Default Brake light help!!!!

Hello-
I just bought a 97 camaro and the brake lights after replacing the bulbs work, however at night when I turn on the headlights the brakes turn on with the headlights and when I depress the brake to actually engage the lights they turn off (except the center brake light on the spoiler). The car supossedly had been parked for over a year, and I was not told this was an issue. The brake lights work fine during the day without the headlights on. Any thoughts?
**I re-ran the wiring system in the back today and still having the issue.***

May just be the wrong bulb number, damaged or shorted bulb socket, or in a dual filament bulb, the filaments are shorted to each other. Possibility, not a promise.

are you sure the bulbs are in the right way, you can get them in backwards if you try hard enough.

Sometimes the sockets have oxidation on the terminals, causing a bad connection. They can be cleaned with WD 40 , and a Q tip. It's worth a try.
