So I got to work today and when I turned off my car I noticed my blinker was on, The right one stayed on no matter what position the turning signal thing was in and it was still blinking with the car off...

SO i Disonnected my battery cable cause I had to go to work.. Anyone have an idea of what to check 1st? It's a 79!

 

Probably a bad switch....they do wear out.

 

Would that cause it to blink when the car is off though?

 

Other than the flasher relay which is on the fuse panel or hanging under the dash everything else goes around the switch. And the hazard also goes through the switch and it works without the ignition on. So it is a place to start looking.
