So i have a 97 3.8 manual, with ash tray. The ash tray has quite obviously been used. I have already cleaned the removable little ash tray cup, and the parts i could reach with a lysol wipe, but down like under the part where the ash tray cup comes from, there are a couple cigarette butts+cigar roaches, i cant really get them out by hand(and its nasty stuff ehh) how do you clean that part out?

Have you tried a vacuum?

 

should be able to take the ashtray base out. on a auto it is a rectangular peice of the console that comes out, i am assuming a stick has a similar peice that holds the boot and ashtry. its got a platic clip on one end and tabs on the other if i remember tight. i had to take the **** off the shifter to get it all the way off. i bought a new peice for mine and it came with a new ashtray.

and craby - yea i mentioned removing the ashtray tray. im talking like down in the ashtray well itself.

 

the console bezel is what im talking about, heres a example of the piece comes out. didnt see any new ones for the stick.

oh oh, i get ya. i didnt know that could be removed. Ill try vacuuming then ill try removing that bit.

 

you can tell alot about the people that owned the car from under those things. lol.
