97 lt1 dies wheni slow down or stop.
I recently had my automatic97 z28 profesionaly rebuilt .I replaced thousands of dollars worth of parts,msd cap and rotor,msd wires,ngk iridium spark plugs,oxygen sensors etc.After engine was installed they ran it for 10 minutes good temperature and oil pressure .As soon as i pull out of shop car runs fine but when you let off the gas or step on brakes the car shakes and shudders like its going to shut of .when you reach stop light the car dies .It starts right up fine and drives great until you slow down or stop.Even when car is in park it runs fine for five minutes then revs up and down then shuts down.Any advice is appreciated.Iam all out of money and car doesnt run.

sounds like the trans is not disingaging, kinda like if u have a stick and u leave it in gear with out clutching it. i hate to say it but u might have to rebuild the trans mission, did u do anything to the trans, did u change the tq converter???

Bring it back to the shop. MAKE them fix it. Could be timming, ignition system or vacume leak somewhere. You payed these people to build you an engine, that payment ususlly means to make sure it works too.

sometimes it dies as soon as i slow down sometimes i can save it from dying if i put it in park as soon as i stop .

TCC is the torque converter clutch, and it is part of the torque converter, between the engine and the transmission. Take the car back to the shop that rebuilt the transmission. Problem could be in the control circuits, the converter itself, or even in the brake switch.

I thought the car would stay on if i put it in park as soon as i stop.It now dies in park.I started car and let it run in park to see what would happen,it starts fine and runs great for a few minutes then the idle rpms slow down starts to sputter and shuts down within three minutes all while being in park.Do you think it could be the optispark i only changed the cap,rotor ,wires and plugs not the distributor.
