95 z28 ran fine, died wont restart

Make sure the open melted wires on the harness aren't touching each other or any other metal, or you may blow the fuse again. I'm sure the wires would have been the cause of the blown fuse in the first place.

I know my 2002 died almost the same way. Running normal and fine, and then while cruisin down the highway it just QUIT! I didn't think it would be the fuel pump because how fast it quit. In fact all I could figure was the relay. Got it home, ran up to the store, got a new relay, ran back and it started right up with the relay..... however it died again the next day. Aparently the pump had gone out and the origional relay was fuine, but in the time it took me to go up to the store and back the pump cooled off enough to run again for 5-10 minutes before warming up. After replacing the pump (what a pain.... no wonder they charge $1000 for that).
I hope the fuse is where your problem lies.

one more question for you guys. when my car is completly warmed up, its idling at 500rpm with the oil pressure at 20psi, when driving the oil pressure goes up to 40...should my idling oil pressure be 20 or higher? and should my car be idling at 500rpms?

it is idling a little on the low side. whens the last time u changed the plugs? and oil? that oil pressure is pretty normal for a high mileage lt1. what wt of oil. could change to 10w30 if your using 5w30. that would bring it up.

it only has 128k....had ngk plugs about 5k ago..prolly needs an oil change, i always run about an extra qt of oil in mine, because on hard braking my oil pressure jumps to zero for a split second, the extra oil helps this problem...i dont remember the idle being this low before the problems i had the other day though

i would suspect a lose or bad wire on the oil pressure sensor or a bad sensor. should not run the motor overfilled with oil. very hard on the seals and puts the oil level up into the crank. u could have an oil pickup issue but have not heard of one failing. so the oil pressure drops no matter how much oil is in it?
