I have a 95 z28 with a LT1 and automatic , will a 5 speed from a 3.4 v-6 fit . I know the bellhousing would be different , I also have a muncie 4-speed . I am tired of trouble with the auto trans and want something that will take some punishment . I would like to get the details before I get in over my head .

If you are looking for something that will take the punishment of a LT1, the5 speed from a 3.4is not the gearbox you want. Get a 4L60eset up for racing or a 6 speed and you will be better off.

 

I'd get the six speed. There are a few T56's on eBay for under two grand and those should be a direct swap.

 

Do they make direct swap kits from auto to manual?
