I know this sounds crazy.....I purchased a 92 corvette motor with aluminum heads tuned port. I want to swap the vette motor into my 91 rs camaro 5.0 which is a throttle body....I'm looking for someone that might have done something simular to what I'm thinking of doing...if you know what I need to do or where to start with this project...please reply thanks!! I have a good idea, but I need someones opinion on this..I want to keep the tuned port on the engine!!!!!!!

they are both V8s so the mounting points should be the same...did you get a different ECU for the vette engine?

 

Thanks....I didnt get that ECU yet...my main concern is, how hard would it be to convert over to the vette engine if I want to keep the tune port on the vette engine since my car is throttle body...is there a harness I can buy that will just plug inot my computer or do I have to change the whole wire harness ordinary to use this engine in my car....I'm just trying to see how much work is involved in this before I start anything..I need to know what to change on my car to use this engine...I have alot of homewrok to do if I want to use this vette engine in my car...the more info. I get the better off I am lol....so thanks people for the advice.

 

if you can find a camaro that has the TPI setup it would help you. I think the throttle cable for the TPI is longer. there is little things like that. another thing is you need the ECU for a 5.7 TPI because the computer controls the injectors and a couple of other things. there is no harness you can buy the will plug the Vette Engine to your TBI's ECU. I from what I have been reading you will also have to up grade your fuel pump and lines. Apparently the 5.0 ltr engine runs at 34pph and the 5.7 runs at 43. there is just alot of little things to change over when doing something like this. thats why people use donor cars for motorswap projects.
